I started off at a hotel and made my way to a club near Times Square. Well, I thought it was near Times Square but it turned out to be in Chelsea. Unfortunately, many of the clubs near Times Square were still closed due to Covid-19.
I was really excited because I finally got the chance to use my DSLR camera at night. During the day, I was travelling light, so I couldn’t carry it around. But at night, I was only carrying my camera and nothing else.
As we were walking, I noticed how they tied up all the chairs so that no one could steal them. I found that pretty interesting. And then, finally, I saw the real New York City crowd. It was the 4th of July weekend and people were crossing red lights and jaywalking. I was finally seeing the real NYC!
I had always wondered about the cost of promoting on Times Square screens. It turns out it costs around $4 million dollars! Crazy, right?
We made our way to the club but it started raining and we had to run to the bar. We went to the TAO club, but it was closed for the night. So, we decided to try another one. The lines were so long, even at 12:30am! But it was the first weekend that clubs were fully reopened for vaccinated people, so everyone was excited to be out and about.
We ended up going to a few different clubs and the prices just kept getting higher and higher. We even got offered cocaine outside one of the clubs, which was a first for me.
Overall, it was a really fun night out and I’m glad I got to experience the nightlife in America. And even though it was expensive, it was definitely worth it!
